Hi! First off, I just wanted to say that Window Sitter World is lovely! I came across a post about it on cohost and had to scour the site immediately, lol. I used to love downloading these back in the days, and I think I even made and submitted two to Otaku World, so thanks for archiving what they had available there.
I'm not sure if you're aware of it, but MaCoPiX is another window sitter program that I didn't see on your site. The official page for it is still up and running too.

Figured it'd be worth mentioning if you didn't already know about it. It has downloads for the different OS versions of the program and various sitters on the [DL] page.
The instructions on how to create new sitters are only on the Japanese version of the site, but I recall the process being pretty similar to making one with Otaku World's Otaku Mascot program.
I switched to Linux awhile ago so I was happy to see a window sitter program that works here. I can't speak for the Mac and Windows versions, but it'd be cool to see other people test those out on modern systems too. |

Thanks so much! I'm glad you think so :D
Oh wow, I didn't realize people were posting about it there; pretty awesome!
Dangggg, that's super cool that you've submitted two to the site; have you dug around the archive I made to see if they're in there yet?
Oh yes; I'm aware of MaCoPiX (and it's predecessor ActX), I just haven't gotten around to adding it to my site yet. It has quite a few window sitters (which is part of the reason why I've been putting off adding it >_>).
There's a tonnnn of other stuff that I have that just...hasn't been added to the site yet (mainly because adding stuff is a bit manual and tedious) but I will get around to adding everything I have eventually!
I definitely appreciate you reaching out to let me know though; I would most certainly prefer people to reach out and me already have something than to not reach out and it be something I'm missing, so thanks a bunch!
If you're on Linux, there's also KDE AMOR; haven't really checked it out much, but there's a decent selection available for it; not huge, but there are at least two of the ELEMENTAL SOFT window sitters ported to it |

You're welcome!
I finished digging through the archive, but I only found one of the mascots I made back then. It's the one with the filename dacider.mascot (which is Da Cider with his look from VS Knight Lamune & 40 Fire). Thankfully I still had the file for the other one I made, I just dug it out from an old hard drive. This one's Osaka from Azumanga Daioh.

Feel free to throw it into the bundle when you've got the time.
Also I see! Glad you knew about it already, totally understandable to take your time adding all that stuff to the site, I know it can be a long process. I didn't know about KDE AMOR either, so thanks for the heads up on that one! |

Ahhhh, my fears have been realized; I was worried that the version of the Otaku Mascot site that was up only had files up to a certain date (and had newer stuff that was missing). This is something I tried looking into via wayback machine archives, and I believe there are at least 6-7 newer files that weren't listed under http://otakuworld.com/mascot/, and yours might've been one of them (or there might be even more that are missing >_>)
And thanks so bunch! I honestly find it quite amazing that you happen to have submitted stuff to Otaku World, and still had them (including one that is apparently missing!). I'll definitely throw it in eventually. Honestly, I'm thinking about eventually splitting up the bundle so that all the Otaku Mascots are just...visible on the website (via a script to automate it) but that'll be after I add some sorting/filtering features to the site (to make it easier to sort through). This'll also make it easier to add more if more are discovered. Not sure yet though, the bundle has its advantages (and disadvantages)
And yeah no problem! |
